About COLLEGE POSSIBILITIES

COLLEGE POSSIBILITIES was founded by Rachel B. Sobel, LCSW, Ph.D., a licensed clinical social worker with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education who has over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and their families. She is also a graduate of the IECA Summer Training Institute and holds a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. As a psychotherapist, college counselor, and educator, Rachel has advised numerous students and families about the college search and admissions process. In addition to her consulting practice, she teaches and is an advisor in the Graduate School of Education at Neumann College. She speaks frequently to school and community groups on both the general college admission process and the specific needs of LD/ADHD students.

Rachel visits more than 60 college campuses a year to meet with college admissions officers and staff members from the Office of Learning Disabilities to learn about new programs and track changes in admissions criteria. Additionally, she attends college fairs, workshops, and conferences locally and around the country.
